I had no sleep at all last night and I mean that, it wasn't that I tossed and turned but I was literally awake all night, as if I was still on nights. How I am still awake now, I have no idea, as this morning at 7.30 I gave in, got up and blended both my tomato soup and my veggy, 'if it is in the fridge it is going in the pot' soup, then I popped the pork leg into the slow cooker with some potatoes, carrots and onion. Kitchen bitching at its best!
Home-made tomato soup for breakfast then off to pick up some bits. Mum stayed last month and I know it is a bit selfish, but I really didn't like giving up my bed, so I purchased a blow up bed, with fast integral pimp, from Lidl and some pink fluffy socks as well as a tin of chickpeas and a tin of pineapple. Eh, why? I hear you ask, well, while I was having breakfast Jamie Oliver was making a veggy version of the recipe I use for chicken curry. It really is a delicious curry sauce, I usually burn my mouth
So Lidl first then I went on the hunt for 2 picture frames for King Abdullah Al Saud and King William, both limited prints of pencil drawings, that I thought would look nice in the living room. Again there is art still to arrive for the bedroom but that is fine where it is for now. Frames are so expensive and a cheap frame always looks like a cheap frame, so today was a first - I went charity shop shopping in the hope that I would find better quality for a reasonable price. I think I struck lucky with the King Abdullah frame (bare with me, I will try to add pictures tomorrow) and the other is still better than say an Ikea job but not quite right. Anyway I wanted to get them first thing as I had a meeting at work 11.00 - 13.00 then home before Nick, the handyman, came back around to put up the rest of the curtains. I sweet talked, paid, him to put up the tie backs to and the 2 new frames, again pictures to follow. The little house is now coming together and feels much more homey, warm and not so echoey. It is also nice to start to be surrounded with the nice 'things' that you accumulate on your travels that evoke happy memories.
I am really happy with the work done and other than things for the house that I already own or that are being delivered tomorrow, more on that then, I think I am just about done here. This is definitely not how I envisioned my life a year ago, in fact, it is on the 23rd of this month that the bomb shell that destroyed my life, mind and future was dropped and I am finding the work-up to that date hard, so I fell off the wagon last night (lasted 3 weeks) and had a go at David. Sometimes I really see no hope for our future but you just can't turn the feelings off, right? Or do you know something I don't?
So the confession, no that wasn't it! it was so dark! wet! windy and miserable by the time Nick left that I didn't' visit the girls, bad Mummy!
Still, I am sure they are fine and I am really glad I put them in their necked middle weights last week.
So the plan for tomorrow, pick up DC's glasses, pick up my 'secret' delivery, watch Dracula untold for £6.15, noon till 2, them head up to the horses. They are looking a bit wild and unkept, so I want to smarten them up a bit, before and after pictures promised and also use this as a reference as to how they looked coming out of summer.
So, my little house is all but ready for winter, just some draft excluders and we are done. Checked my electricity meter today, my consumption has increased from 97p per day to a whopping £1.07 per day, lol. However, British Gas have kindly predicted my next bill, so far I use about £8 per week, between now and the end of November they predict I will use £29 per week, what do they know that I don't? And they wonder why I won't go direct debit, rolls eyes! In addition to that good news, I have been refunded £52 by Lloyds insurance for a policy I don't believe I agreed to and Sky are taking 1 months line rental of my next bill for the bloody shocking line I had until they replaced the router!
All in all a good day, roll on tomorrow.
